Vikings,

DO only read on if you are OLD…and truly know how to let the ball do ALL the work!

Half Season Opening Imminent

The first game of the second half of the season is coming up next weekend. We are playing Africa United - a strong team we lost to in the first half of the season. We know we need to play our best to beat these guys so if your have not been running regularly and attended practice during the winter now is the last call to get moving before the real thing next weekend. We are hoping to practice on grass this coming Wednesday so we can get the feel of this layer again. The full schedule for the season and the current standings are available now on the tournament website.

Today the booking and registration details was shipped to Singapore for the coming Viking Cup 2010. 43 People in total including supporters plus the omni present John. Wonder how he will find his way home to Beijing this time.

3rd place in 7aside Tournament

The pre- season 7aside tournament was finished yesterday at Dulwich. Beijing Vikings managed to wrap the tournament up nicely with two wins ending up in securing us a 3rd place in the overall tournament final standing after Sexy FC and France. We played great in the first game against Celtics and won a deserved 5-3 on great fast passing play throughout the game. In the second game we clearly beat a young team with 7-2. Fantastic to see Aaron back in goal - great saves in the first game. Also great matches by captain Stian who also managed to score twice and hit the bar on finish from far out.

Indoor practice and 7aside on Saturday

Yesterday 13 players showed up for a great indoor practice session at Dulwich. Great turnup which shows that a bunch are serious about getting fit for the coming half season. Great evening for the green team who won all 3 matches. Detail of the day was Jeppe's collision with the barrier and the wall after Soeren Savcors tackle. Bug thanks to Gary for making the session possible. On Saturday the last round of the 7aside warmup tournament will be played at Dulwich. Last week we played decent but ended losing both games. We created plenty of chances but manage to miss too often.

Old captain returns to The Den

Saturday the 6th our former captain Mads Thau will allow himself to get wasted once more at The Den. Be sure of this - none of you have consumed more Long Island Iceteas than this man. At least that is what he will try to convince you Saturday... So show up - have a drink, and let's share stories about old and new times. See you at The Den Saturday night...

7aside preseason tournament leg 2 tomorrow!

We are playing the second leg of the 7aside tournament at WAB Saturday the 30st. The results from last weekend showed that we are far from fit and ready to begin the season - 1 point out of two games is not acceptable. More concentration, bigger turn up and better fitness needed!

Viking Cup 2010 update

The Viking Cup 2010 is closing in and already at this stage the board can announce that we will be players enough for two fully competitive teams in Singapore representing Beijing Vikings. More than 30 Beijing Vikings players and guests have signed up preliminarily. We will have a historically strong presence in Singapore both on and off the pitch!

7aside tournament opening postponed - friendly arranged instead.

The 7aside tournament have been pushed to next week due to the harsh weather conditions. Instead our coach has arranged a 9aside against Sexy on WAB. Please sign up!! We need to get that ball rolling and get some speed in our legs!!
