As a part of the Lyseng All-Star junior team, the young Mikael played three seasons without loosing a game. This unprecedented winning-streak, and a Jutland Championship, lead to an exhibition game before the Denmark - Faroe Islands European Cup qualification game, 10th of October 1990. In front of 35,500 raging fans at the old Danish National Park, Lyseng and Mikael beat Nykoebing Falster 1-0. Denmark beat the Faroe Islands 4-1. The rest is history.
Growing up, however, Mikael gave up a promising football career to pursue another dream - the life as a non-paid hard-working embassy intern. Now, Mikael leads a quiet life on the left or right defence position, doing his part to help yet another team, the almighty Beijing Vikings, rise to its rightful position among the very brightest of stars on the gleaming football sky.
Most importantly, Mikael has already discovered that The Den never closes!
